45 Things To Do When You’re Bored

 This year has been one for the books. We have all had to adapt at a moment’s notice. I hope that you and all of your loved ones are staying safe and healthy. Hopefully soon we can all reunite and do the things we love.

You may have just kept on working or you may have discovered that you have a lot of free time on your hands. Whatever the case social distancing has forced us all to look for new things to do when we are bored.

While I love being alone, I do find myself missing the social interaction, especially now after suffering an injury I have been searching the internet for things to do when you are bored .

I’ve compiled a list of 50 things to do when you’re bored. I hope these help to keep you occupied.

 1. Start a new tv show

2. Watch a new movie

Check out my post to find a holiday movie to watch or just stream a popular movie on Netflix or Prime video

3. Make a playlist of your favorite songs

My favorite music streaming app is Spotify.

4. Read a book

Pick up a book at the library and start reading. Also if you have a Kindle check out the eBooks available on Amazon like the book YOU, which i just recently started after watching the tv show

5. Make a puzzle

I love doing puzzles and you can find lots at your local thrift.

6. Do your nails

If your bored why not pass some time by painting your nails.

7. Do a face mask

Pick up a face mask at your local drugstore and have a spa night.

8. Deep condition your hair

Pair this with a face mask and a good movie.

9. Listen to a podcast

There are tons of podcast on Spotify as well as on Youtube.

10. Try yoga

There are tons of videos on YouTube to practice some yoga right in your living room.

11. Go for a walk

Put on some sneakers and go for a walk outdoors.

12. Try a new recipe

Check out Pinterest for some great recipes. I’m always pinning new ones here.

13. Draw a picture

I absolutely love drawing and doodling and it’s a great way to fix boredom.

14. Paint a picture

Grab a canvas and some paint and try an art class with Bob Ross on Youtube.

15. Start a bullet journal

I recently just started doing this and it is so much fun. There are also tons of great page ideas on Pinterest. Check out this bullet journal and 24 pack of fine point pens on Amazon

16. Learn a Tik Tok dance

I have shamelessly spent to many hours trying to learn all the new Tik Tok dances. They are definitely harder than they look.

17. Deep clean a room in your house

Check out my easy tips on how to clean your bedroom.

18. Clean out your fridge

There is nothing more satisfying than completely emptying your fridge and wiping it out. You might even find a few gross surprises.

19. Take a nap

Sometimes there is nothing better to do when your bored than taking a nap

20. Care for a plant

Now this is definitely not for me but if you have a green thumb you should go get yourself some plants.

21. Color in a coloring book

I will admit I have a few adult coloring books and they are very relaxing.

22. Knit a blanket

There are a lot of great resources on Pinterest to knit a blanket. I even once knit one using my arms.

23. Learn a new language

Duolingo is a great app if your looking to learn a new language.

24. Find a DIY Craft on Pinterest

This speaks for itself and I am always pinning new ideas here.

25. Do a workout video

If your into fitness check out some at home workouts on YouTube. My favorite are Whitney Simmons.

26. Reorganize your closet

Why not take everything out of your closet and dresser and organize by item and color.

27. Play a board game

There are tons of fun board games out there. My favorite that passes time is Monopoly.

28. Play a card game

I love card games! There are so many to choose from and you just need a deck of cards.

29. Try out a new hairstyle

Check out YouTube and Pinterest for new hairstyle ideas

30. FaceTime a friend

Call up a friend who lives far away and chat for awhile

31. Delete photos off your phone

If your anything like me you probably have thousands of pictures on your phone and some of them are probably accidental pics or random screenshots.

32. Go through your stuff to donate

While your reorganizing your closet why not donate stuff you don’t wear to your local thrift store.

33. Create a bucket list

I’m sure you have plenty of things you’d love to do. Write them down and get to work on completing them.

34. Create a monthly budget

Write a monthly total of your income and your expenses to help you save money.

35. Clean up your email

My email is full of stuff I’ll never read but I never clean it out. You should though.


36. Do some karaoke

Get on YouTube search your favorite song followed by karaoke and have a karaoke party

37. Rearrange your bedroom

Clean your room and move around your furniture to give your room a makeover

38. Watch a documentary

Check out some of the most popular documentaries on Netflix.

39. Have a bubble bath

Check out some of these awesome bath products on Amazon, like this Dr.Teals Foaming Bath and this gift set of bath bombs

40. Listen to an audiobook

I don’t listen to audiobooks, but Audible has tons of books and a 30 day free trial right now.

41. Clean out your purses

I shove absolutely everything and anything into my purses so that would definitely keep me occupied.

42. Clean your makeup brushes

I love cleaning my makeup brushes it is so satisfying. All I do is take a dish filled with half dish soap and half oil (olive is my choice), run your brushes under hot water, dip in the soap mixture and swirl your brush on one of these cleaning mats from Amazon .

43. Clean out your junk drawer

I don’t know maybe other people don’t have junk drawers but I have 2 and it would probably take me a couple hours to go through them.

44. Call your grandparents

I’m sure your grandparents would talk to you all day if they could, so give them a call.

45. Do online surveys

  18. These are great tips.I’ve been reading and podcasting more. Cleaning out rooms has been an ongoing project and a great relief. So much to do and no need to ever be bored.
